Lapres Homes completely renovated the main floor of my Point Grey house, including a new kitchen with cabinetry, a new island, hardwood floors, a powder room, painting, electrical work, new lighting and a home office with a built-in desk and cabinetry. I had no prior renovation experience nor did I have any knowledge of interior design, so I was thrilled that Peter looked after everything. Peter would come on site and meet with sub-contractors who were professional and did outstanding work. He kept the site clean, was honest, trustworthy and an excellent communicator. After the job was completed, I was concerned he would disappear however, when there was tweaking or adjustments that needed to be done, he was very responsive and took action immediately. When I wanted to change something mid-way through the project he made it happen. The job was done on time and on-budget. How many customers can say that about their renovation? Peter often had suggestions as to how we could save money during the process. I never felt pushed to spend more or upgrade my plans. 
Peter’s wife Rebecca Lapres of Rebecca Lapres Interior Design, has an incredible sense of design, colour and space. She brought me numerous colour swatches, floor samples, tile options, fabric samples and listened to what I liked but was never afraid to tell me when she thought that something would not work. She did all of the running around for me, collecting the samples so it really felt effortless. She turned my dark old-fashioned home, into a beautiful, light and modern space. She also had wonderful suggestions as to how to re-vamp some of the old furniture pieces I loved so I didn’t need to go out and start from scratch. Seamlessly, Rebecca pulled it all together. 
Now, I love to sit on my couch with a cup of tea and marvel at how beautiful my home has become. Most importantly, Peter and Rebecca are good humans. They are absolutely a pleasure to work with. Peter even managed to befriend my ferocious Chihuahua Chloe and had her cuddling in his arms…no small feat. 
I hold both Peter of Lapres Homes and Rebecca of Rebecca Lapres Interior Design in the highest regard. They worked magic in my home and I could not be happier!

We have had two excellent experiences with Lapres Homes, first with our bathroom and then with our kitchen/dining room. The owner, Peter Lapres, is hands-on and an excellent communicator. We received regular progress updates, and clear explanations about the cost and benefits of the decisions we were making. His team was friendly, easy to have in our house, and prioritized cleanliness (to the extent that is reasonably possible during a significant renovation). The work was top-notch and we are thrilled with the results. They worked well with our designer. (Peter is married to a noted interior designer himself, and it is clear that some of that design sense has rubbed off on him as well.) We are the delighted owners of a house designed and built by Peter Lapres (it’s the “Mountain View House” on the website). We immediately fell in love with the home when we first viewed it and our love for it has grown immensely since moving in. We have lived in it for a year now, but it feels like we’ve lived here much longer because the house just works so wonderfully for our family of five. The layout is so well considered – the main floor has a beautiful flow, every space in the house functions extremely well, and there is the right amount of storage (meaning, lots of it!). It has a really warm and inviting blend of styles, taking what we feel are the best of traditional and modern. And the quality of craftsmanship is superb, right down to the smallest detail. In short, the house is beautiful to look at and beautiful to live in.

Peter is also our neighbour and we have come to know him and his wife, Rebecca (who is an interior designer and works with Peter on his projects), very well. Peter is a very thoughtful, kind and considerate person, whom we are very confident would be a delight to work with. In our own experience, for instance, he has been extremely generous with his time in answering all our questions about the house. We would have no hesitation trusting him with any building project, and we have already recommended him to close friends looking to build a home.

We retained Peter and his team to renovate an old bathroom and bedroom in our character home.  We have experience with various contractors, and Peter and his team are by far the best that we have worked with.  People had told us that Peter's day to day communication was excellent and it lived up to the billing.  He kept us informed and was available to take our calls.  Schedule was critical to us, and the work was done on time.  He was excellent in telling us the cost implications of decisions we were making.  When unexpected issues arose (as they always do with an old house!) Peter managed them and kept our stress levels down.  The crew kept the site as clean as possible throughout, tidying at the end of each day.  I would not hesitate to recommend Lapres Homes to anyone.

My latest project involved renovating the entire main floor of my town home, from installing hardwood throughout, building in new cabinetry, replacing the kitchen countertops, painting, rebuilding the fire place surround and more.  Peter Lapres does not settle for 'good enough'. All of his subcontractors are high quality and he overseas all aspects of the work in progress. He either came by everyday to monitor work progress and discuss or he would call me. I was never left wondering what was going on. Any concern I had was addressed immediately. 

What particularly impressed me was that he made sure that my home was swept up everyday during particularly dusty operations like removing floor tile since I was still living there during the reno. He went out of his way to minimize the mess.  As the project winds up he checks to make sure that I am happy with the quality of work done for each element. If I had a concern with anything he immediately arranged for the subcontractor to make the necessary changes or even did them himself if possible. 

I will be using Lapres Homes for future work. You can't argue with high quality work and a contractor who takes pride in his work.

As a real estate agent, I had the privilege of selling a house designed and built by Lapres Homes, and during that process, heard first hand from over a hundred visitors, how impressed they were by the craftsmanship, the lovely attention to detail and the melding of elegant old world styling with state of the art home technology.  This custom built home, with its charming return to color, from the soft gray kitchen cabinets to the warm pinks and blues in wall colors, as well as a traditional layout – was a fresh take on family living. The home was a joy to show and a joy to sell, to a family who fell in love with every corner.
